Lauren Lewis Joins Manufacturing Bus Tour at Buffalo’s Unicell

StaffBuffalo Partner Lauren Lewis joined The Business Council of New York State on October 7, 2026, for a press conference and facility tour at Unicell Body Company in Buffalo. The visit was part of the Council’s annual Made in New York Manufacturing Bus Tour, highlighting manufacturers and their contributions to the state’s economy.

Unicell is a family-owned company producing fiberglass bodies for commercial trucks at its Howard Street facility. According to Buffalo News coverage of the visit, the company employs 90 people and manufactures approximately 2,500 truck bodies annually.

The coverage explored how Unicell is navigating tariff uncertainty, changes in procurement, and higher material costs while continuing to invest in its production processes and employees. The Business Council also identified finding workers, energy costs, and healthcare costs among the challenges manufacturers are raising during the tour.
