Maggie Shea: The Buffalo News: What Businesses are doing for the Solar Eclipse

On April 8th, Buffalo, New York will sit directly in the path of a total solar eclipse providing the best viewing experience nationwide. During totality, the moon will be directly between the sun and Earth, casting complete darkness over the city for more than three minutes.
So, what does this mean for Western New York as it prepares for the total solar eclipse?
Local businesses like StaffBuffalo are seizing the opportunity by organizing activities outside the office to witness this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event. The staffing agency conducted an internal poll to decide what to do for the eclipse, “about 75% of workers voted to throw a viewing party at work while the rest wanted to work from home.” according to Maggie Shea, managing partner at StaffBuffalo LLC.
Shea added, “Everyone is really excited about it, so we will split up. Those who want to work from home will watch it with their family and friends, while the majority of workers will have a party at the office, then walk over to Delaware Park and the Japanese Garden to watch the eclipse unfold.” This approach not only allows for flexibility but also a shared experience among the StaffBuffalo team.
