Minimum Wage and Salaried Exempt Threshold Increases

Effective January 1, 2024, minimum wage rates in upstate NY will increase to $15 per hour, and the salaried exempt minimum will rise to $58,500. While these increases are several months away, employers should begin preparing for these increases as they prepare budgets, issue other pay increases, or assess the need to change salaried employees to hourly if the salaried exempt threshold will not be met.
